2-D, 3-D Collage and Mixed Media Choose one date Monday, July 22 - 10:00am - 4:00pm
Are you a poet or journal writer? Do you have treasured family photos or letters you would like to celebrate? Take these mementos, photos or pieces of writing that captured a special time and make them into a piece of art. We will discuss how to make simple 3-d forms in matt board that can then be collaged and transformed into a book, a house structure or box that tells a story. I will demonstrate some very simple Gel printing techniques to make beautiful colorful papers for collage. This class is a combination of classes I taught before, such as book making, printmaking and mixed media. Something for everyone who loves color, pattern, story telling and working with a variety of materials. I encourage everyone to begin collecting family photos (you can make multiple copies of your photos, so you don’t use the original), bring letters or poetry or parts of a journal to incorporate into your final pieces. This class is about the journey of discovery and the wonderful surprises that delight you along the way. Students will use their own photos, writing or mementos to make their finished pieces unique and personal but I will provide tools, matte board and a large array of beautiful papers, thin sheets of copper, buttons, ribbons, and lots of fun treasures to work with.
Tuition cost $120 All materials will be provided and all levels are welcome. Please bring a bag lunch to enjoy on the porch. Scheduled dependent on adequate enrollment. Space is limited to 8 students. This allows each person a large table space to work.
